At roughly 300 metres, Springwood is milder than the upper Mountains, but it still gets cold nights. Frozen pipes are less common than in Katoomba or Blackheath, though exposed outside taps and hot water units can still suffer on the coldest mornings.
Many homes are 1950s to 1980s brick or fibro, set on leafy bush blocks. Tall gums near sewer lines are a classic recipe for root blockages, and leaf litter fills gutters and stormwater pits fast. We clear and camera-check drains regularly in streets like these.
The 2013 bushfires burned through parts of the Springwood area, and a number of homes have been rebuilt since. New builds and rebuilds often need tank connections, stormwater drainage and gas points done properly. If you are building, see renovation plumbing.
Most of Springwood is on Sydney Water sewer. Properties on the edges may differ, so check yours if you are not sure.
If you are buying a house here, a plumbing check is worth doing. Old hot water units, root-affected drains and tired pipes are all common, and better known before you sign.

My drains block every autumn. Why?
Leaf litter and tree roots are the usual causes. A camera inspection shows which, and a clear-out or repair stops the cycle.
Do you plumb new and rebuilt homes?
Yes. We do rough-in and fit-off, tank connections and gas, working with your builder.
