Plumber in Lawson 2783

Lawson sits in the middle of the Mountains, a village of bush blocks, creeks and older cottages. Cold nights, steep land and big trees shape the plumbing.

Lawson is around 700 metres up, which brings cool winters and regular frosts, though a little less severe than Wentworth Falls or Katoomba. Exposed pipes and outdoor hot water units can still freeze on the coldest nights.

Many blocks slope, and a lot of them back onto bush. Stormwater runs hard in heavy rain, drains collect leaves and roots find sewer joints. Clearing pits and downpipes before a big storm is worth doing. See blocked drains.

Housing ranges from old weatherboard cottages to brick homes of the 1960s and later. Pipework and hot water systems reflect that: some updated, some original.

Most of Lawson is on Sydney Water sewer, with some exceptions. If you are not sure, ask us or Sydney Water.

Lawson's bush blocks drop plenty of leaves and bark. Cleaning gutters, downpipes and surface drains once or twice a year is the cheapest plumbing maintenance you can do, and it keeps stormwater away from your footings.
